About
Mission and Vision
- Our mission is to Discover, Translate and Implement innovative, evidence-based approaches that transform families and communities to support health and well-being.
- All children, families, and individuals deserve to be healthy and have equitable access to health care.
- Studies across the research spectrum (T1-T4) can lead to discoveries that help us understand the causes of and solutions to a multitude of health issues and health disparities.
- These discoveries must also be disseminated to communities and into policy and practice.
- In addition to understanding Dissemination and Implementation methodology, this requires a deep understanding of how to work in and with diverse communities.
- This requires skills in cultural competence, effective communication, community engagement, and capacity building.
- Working with diverse communities leads to additional discoveries that further inform policy and best practices, and lead to new areas of research.
- As the hub for discoveries, programs and practices, and policy change, the Division’s work can lead to sustainable, replicable improvements in health equity and ultimately lead to healthier communities for children and families.
