Pediatric Fellow Research Seminars

This series occurs every 2nd and 4th Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego, Education and Office Building. Due to COVID-19, the series will continue on Zoom. Please refer to the below schedule and Zoom information.

Seminar Series Directors: Lori Broderick, MD, PhD, Hal Hoffman, MD, and Peter Zage, MD, PhD

Format:
The seminar will include one or two presentations at each session. Each presentation will be around 20 minutes, with hopefully 10-15 minutes for discussion and feedback. Approximately once per month, we will have a guest faculty speaker to discuss aspects of pediatric academic medicine.

For those who did not present last year or are new to the program, the format should be similar to presentations given to your Scholarship Oversight Committee meetings. We hope that presenting at these seminars will only require a little extra effort to provide you with a lot of useful feedback.

Goals and Opportunities:

  • To provide opportunities for fellows to present their research project proposals, results, and conclusions to receive feedback from peers and other faculty
  • To provide a forum to increase both fellow and faculty knowledge of the breadth and depth of clinical, translational, and basic research in the Department of Pediatrics and to encourage potential collaborative efforts
  • To provide examples of future research career paths in pediatrics and career development advice from current Departmental faculty
Attendance:
Attendance is required for fellows and fellows are expected to present at least once during their training.

If you wish to attend via Zoom or have questions, please email Tricia Ruiz.
