Xin Du, MD, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow

Xin Du received her undergraduate degree in Laboratory Medicine at Shanghai Jiaotong University in China. She then obtained her MD degree from Diagnostic Medicine at Fudan University in China under the supervision of Prof. Yuan Lv and PhD degree from Infection Biology at Tübingen University in Germany under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Peschel. Her doctoral topics were mainly focused on characteristics and pathogenesis mechanisms of Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis, including horizontal gene transfer, nasal colonization, bacterial phages, and wall teichoic acids. 
 
Xin currently works as postdoctoral fellow on optimizing virulence targets for Staphylococcal vaccines.
