Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Training Program

​​The combined Medicine-Pediatric Residency Program at the University of California, San Diego, is designed to train a group of physicians who will be well-equipped to meet the challenges of our changing healthcare system. The program provides a broad background in both internal medicine and pediatrics that is suited to primary care and a depth of training that is equally suited to subspecialty training. The well-established UCSD Internal Medicine and Pediatric Residency ​programs provide exposure to various patients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Training is balanced with varied primary care experiences as well as immersion in strong academic tertiary medicine. Residents alternate every three months between the pediatric and medicine services and assume graduated responsibilities over the four-year course of training. The graduates from this program are highly skilled at managing a wide spectrum of clinical problems encountered in the care of pediatric and adult populations.

Child Neurology Training Program

The UCSD Child Neurology Residency Program is a five-year categorical program that offers residents two years of training in general pediatrics followed by three years of comprehensive education in the treatment of both adult and pediatric neurologic disorders.

The UC San Diego Division of Child Neurology, part of the Department of Neurosciences, is a large and diverse group of pediatric neurologists involved in clinical care, clinical trials, basic research, and education.
