At the Bench

Sharon received her undergraduate degree at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, majoring in English, then completed a Master's Degree in English from San Diego State University. After college, Sharon worked as Teacher, Museum Docent, Registration Coordinator at the SD Rock 'n Roll Marathon, and as an Executive Assistant and Manager of two Biology Journals for Elsevier, the world's largest scientific publisher. Sharon joined UCSD in 2008, working as a Faculty Assistant for several prominent scientists in the Division of Biological Sciences before joining our group and more currently the Pediatrics Business Office serving the divisions of Host-Microbe Systems & Therapeutics and Infectious Diseases. Sharon's current responsibilities include administrative coordination in support of the laboratory research program, its grant and manuscript submissions, educational outreach, and our activities in the broader Pediatrics Host-Microbe Systems & Therapeutics .

Outside of Lab

Sharon enjoys dancing, singing, following 4 leagues of football, dabbling in languages, trying new experiences with her husband and 2 daughters, and luxuriating in various things Kpop and fitness related.
